Ceramic, induction or gas? Your heat source matters when choosing the right pot or pan.
Cookware should match both your cooking habits and your hob. The key is to check which materials and bases work with your heat source.
Induction
Induction requires cookware with a magnetic base. A quick test is to hold a magnet to the base: if it sticks, the cookware is suitable. Match the base size to the cooking zone for the best result.
Flexible induction zones
Flexible zones allow you to place cookware across a larger area. Even so, cookware with a stable, flat base gives the most even contact with the hob.
Ceramic hobs
Most types of cookware can be used on a ceramic hob. A flat base helps the pan make good contact and distribute heat evenly.
Gas hobs
Gas works with many types of cookware. Choose a pan or pot with a solid base and use a size that sits securely over the flame.
