Recycled stainless steel

Transition to recycled stainless steel

As with recycled aluminium, we are taking the same approach with stainless steel. In 2024, we began transitioning to recycled stainless steel (RCS) for our product bodies. The transition is being phased in gradually as existing stock is used and new materials are purchased.

From 2025, we use RCS exclusively in HaptIQ and CTX. The impact is significant: recycled stainless steel reduces emissions by more than 80% compared with the production of virgin stainless steel.

Based on our 2024 production level, this change alone is expected to reduce annual emissions from product bodies by more than 650 tonnes of CO₂e. This makes the initiative our largest single reduction to date.

We are continuing this work

As existing stock is phased out, we are extending the use of RCS to more ranges, including Fusion 5, STS and TO GO, as well as handles and lids, with full implementation expected in our 2026 reporting.

Like our recycled aluminium, recycled stainless steel provides the same strength, durability and performance. This shows that high quality and responsible use of materials can go hand in hand.
