About our casseroles

Use a casserole for many different dishes

Slow-cooked dishes, soups, pasta and much more: the choice is yours. A casserole can of course be used for far more than roasting.

A good, large casserole is highly versatile. The possibilities increase further when it can also go in the oven, as all SCANPAN casseroles can. For example, you can bake delicious bread in the pot – see how here.

SCANPAN casseroles have a thick base that provides fast and even heat distribution. The handles are secured with steel rivets or a patented locking system to prevent them from becoming loose over time. The handles also stay cool for longer. Both the pot and handles are ovenproof up to 250 °C.

SCANPAN casseroles are available in several sizes, from 5 to 8.5 litres. This makes it easy to choose the right pot for soup, pot roast, casseroles, vegetables, potatoes or pasta.

The benefits of cast iron, without the drawbacks

Like our other pots and pans, SCANPAN casseroles are made from high-quality materials. 100% recycled aluminium and stainless steel provide practical performance, make cooking more efficient and are designed for years of use.

SCANPAN casseroles offer many of the same positive properties as cast iron cookware:

  • Fast, even heat distribution without hot spots
  • Retain heat for longer
  • Ovenproof up to 250 °C
  • Designed for years of use
  • Suitable for metal utensils
  • Several casseroles are suitable for induction

An aluminium or stainless steel casserole with a nonstick coating does not need to be seasoned before use and regularly maintained with oil, as cast iron does. The nonstick coating helps prevent food from sticking and allows you to cook with little or no fat. When cooking with acidic ingredients, cast iron can give food a metallic taste. A SCANPAN casserole also avoids this.

SCANPAN aluminium casseroles are significantly lighter than cast iron models. Combined with the ergonomic handles, this makes everyday cooking easier and more comfortable. Cleaning is quick and simple with warm water and washing-up liquid.
