Recipe for thin, delicate crêpes

A crêpe is a thin French pancake served with a sweet or savoury filling or topping. Crêpes are wonderfully versatile and suit every meal from breakfast to dessert.

They taste fantastic served warm straight from the pan. You can also prepare them in advance, refrigerate them with greaseproof paper between each crêpe and reheat them just before serving.

A simple recipe for light, delicate crêpes:

(Serves 4)

  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml plain flour
  • 150 ml milk
  • A pinch of salt (+ ½ tsp sugar for dessert crêpes)
  • 25 g melted butter

Combine the eggs, milk, flour, salt and sugar in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Leave the batter in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Stir in the melted butter, then cook the crêpes in a hot pan. Serve with ice cream, jam, fruit or melted chocolate. Enjoy!

How to clean and care for your pan

Thanks to the crêpe pan’s unique nonstick coating, food does not stick and the pan is quick to clean. Caring for it properly will help it last for many years in your kitchen.

The pan distributes heat efficiently, so medium heat is all you need. This uses less energy and helps protect the nonstick coating from rapid temperature changes.

The pan is dishwasher safe, but we recommend that you wash it by hand with ordinary washing-up liquid and warm water.
