FAQ
About our roasting pans
Thanks to its special cooking base, a suitable SCANPAN roasting pan can be placed directly on the hob – including gas. Brown meat and vegetables, add wine, stock and seasoning, then transfer the whole dish straight to the oven to finish cooking. This keeps all the flavour in the dish and saves on washing up. You can also use it as a large frying pan.
Using a rack makes your roasting pan even more versatile. Hot air can circulate around the food – ideal, for example, for roasting chicken with an extra-crisp skin.
The stainless steel rack fits SCANPAN Classic roasting pans and is available in three sizes:
- 26 × 19 cm for the 3.25 l Classic roasting pan
- 31 × 24.5 cm for the 5 l Classic roasting pan
- 35 × 30 cm for the 7.75 l Classic roasting pan
The roasting pan can also be used on the barbecue, optionally with the matching rack – for example to grill fresh fish or prepare a succulent roast in a kettle barbecue. This combines barbecue flavour with the roasting pan’s special properties. It is also ideal for roasting a festive duck.
You can, of course, use it as a conventional roasting pan or ovenproof dish for bakes, lasagne, cakes, bread and much more.
