You’re not alone. In fact, one in four Danes eat their supper alone. And most are happy to do so. Indeed, many people feel unduly stressed by too much company.
However, what singles find most stressing is the fact that most cookbooks and chilled food aisles are geared for families. Because what do you do when you want to treat yourself to a good meal without being left with lots of food that has to be thrown away? Fortunately, new advice and tips are becoming available as more and more people wake up to the fact that food should be eaten and not wasted.
And apropos the single life; it is now, in the month of November, that the Chinese in particular celebrate singles. It happens at the annual Singles’ Day on 11 November. It started in the 1990s, inspired by all the number ones in the date: 11/11. Since then, however, the day has gradually developed into a shopping event like Black Friday.
